THE BLUE WHALE
The Blue Whale is the largest animal known to have ever existed.
It's length is 29.9 metres and weighs 173 tonnes.
The female had a gestation period of 10-12 months.
This whale can live 80-90 years in the wild.
The tongue weighs as much as an elephant, its heart is the size of a car, it's blood vessels are so wide you could swim through them.
The Blue Whale can be found in all of our planet's oceans, except the Arctic, and usually swim alone or in groups of 204. Where there is plenty of food, as many as 60 whales can come together.
Blue Whales eat tiny shrimp-like crustaceans called "Krill," up to 40 million each day.
Their calls are the loudest of any creature on this Earth.
