 Spend Quality Time With Those We Love

“Cherish those you have in your life because you never know when they won’t be around anymore”

This really comes to the fore when we lose someone we love and cherish in death.

Whether he or she is your mum or dad, brother or sister, or best friend, it always leaves a huge hole in our lives and some Beautiful memories to remember.

The word “Cherish” means => to protect and care for someone / to hold dear.

Yes, this can apply to objects but it means so much more when we apply this to ‘people’.

Loving and cherishing those we Love “Today” proves that ‘we are living in the moment’ and Appreciate these Beautiful friends and family that we have in our Lives “Now”.

Unfortunately, at the moment, we live in an ‘uncertain’ world, because anything can happen at any time.

It’s True!

Which is why we ‘must’ spend those few extra minutes with grandma when we take her shopping over.

Or take sis out for that coffee and have a jolly good catch up.

Showing Gratitude to these lovely people and telling them how much you Love him or her will put some Beautiful memories in your mind.

Quality time with those we Love can never be replaced.

Our Mental Health is just as Important, if not more so, as our Physical Health.

The definition of Mental Health is: “a state of well-being that affects how people think, feel and act”.

Think,

And Act.

When we have Good Mental Health we can ‘cope’ with the pressures of everyday Life.

With Good Mental Health we can make the Right Choices.

How can we Help ourselves Mentally?

Eating the right foods on a daily basis is a good start.

Sensible exercise keeps the Mind ‘busy’, as well as helping us Physically.

Practicing Mindfulness will Strengthen our Minds towards a ‘Positive Way of Thinking’.

And what we need to remember is that if we feel that we do have a problem or an illness ‘Mentally’, Help Is Available.

Whilst it is vital that we look after ourselves Mentally, professional help is ‘out there’ and we must ask for it, ignoring any stigma that is slowly disappearing now.

So, we can Help Ourselves Mentally, each and every day, and there is professional help available also.

Looking after our Mental Health will also build up our Emotional Health, which is also Important for a Happy and Healthy Life.

And it is Today that we put the two together.

We can Learn a great deal from our past, if we would only “See” our mistakes, accept them and ‘let go’ of them, leaving them in the past.

Don’t forget to celebrate your successes of the past too.

Remember how Proud you felt of yourself and ‘use’ that success to Help you in the Future.

By using the Lessons from the past, we can ‘Plan’ for the Future, having more Control of our Lives.

All of this will Help us in our personal relationships, especially with our loved ones, because we become more Understanding.

We are continuously Learning throughout our whole Lives, which can, in fact, make Life Itself quite Interesting.

 Today And Tomorrow Are In Your Hands

“Remember, you can’t reach what’s in front of you until you let go of what’s behind you”

Why is it so hard for us to let go of the past?

Memories, whether good or bad, are constantly ‘popping’ up in our minds.

We hear a particular song or smell an old favourite perfume, and instantly we see pictures in our mind’s eye, whether good or bad, ‘they’ are there.

And sometimes, we are just too frightened of the ‘unknown’, and the future can be the ‘unknown’.

However, when we start to take Control of our Lives, we are starting to Control our Futures too.

Whilst we cannot change the ‘past’, we can Learn from ‘it’, and like any lesson, once learnt, we let go of that subject and move on to the Future.

Physically, if we tried to hold onto something behind us, it could drag us backwards and/or we’d never move, which is terribly bad for us physically.

Mentally — it is just the same!

In order to make room for New, Positive and Happy memories, we need to let go and stop thinking about the old, negative and sad ones.

Focus your attention on Today and Tomorrow and Plan for the Future, and you’ll soon find that you have let go of the past, and that you are too busy thinking about something Positive.

Gain Control of your Life, Today and Tomorrow.

 See, Read and Encourage Every Day

“Every time you subtract negative from your life, you make room for more positive”

Doesn’t it feel good to, every now and then, have a ‘jolly good clear out’?

We pick up things that give us good or bad memories, and we ‘choose’ what to keep and what to throw out.

And when we’ve finished, there is always twice the room space left, leaving room for the next few months of memories.

This is a very Positive and Physical ‘job’.

Our Minds are no different!

Every now and then, it is a good idea to do the very same ‘clear out’ with our Minds and Thoughts.

Take time out to give yourself some “me-time” to just sit down and ‘clear your head’.

Think about — what you are thinking about.

Is it Positive?

Is it negative?

Are you Happy when you think?

Or do you feel sad when you think?

Getting rid of the negative means that you have room for the Positive.

Like we rearrange our room, so we need to ‘re-arrange’ our thinking and our thoughts.

And like we put that lovely picture up on the wall, the one that was hidden away in the box, so we can ‘post-it-note’ that very Strong Affirmation to See, Read and Encourage every day.

 Balance Is Needed In Both

“Your body becomes what you consume. Your mind becomes what you consume. Be careful with how you feed both”

We hear a lot about the connection of what we physically eat and how the food we ‘consume’ affects our physical bodies.

And aren’t we always trying ‘to eat the right things’?

It is interesting that there is a connection between food and the mind.

The types of food that we eat and how much we eat, does actually affect our minds and our thinking.

For example, we know that caffeine can keep us awake but too much of it puts us ‘on a high’.

Sugar is important for our bodies, but too much of it affects our weight, which can (in turn) affect how we ‘feel’ about ourselves, thus again, affecting our minds.

Balance is Essential in these two areas for us to keep a Healthy and Happy Life.

There is so much advice online about healthy diets, advice from doctors, for us to look up and ‘follow’.

But what about our ‘Mental Diet’?

Fortunately, society in general is becoming more aware of the effects — good and bad — of the ‘things’ we take into our minds, and again, there is a great deal we can find out about online.

The emphasis is on “us” to “look after ourselves”.

 Heal Yourself Emotionally

“Don’t forget you’re human. It’s okay to have a meltdown, just don’t unpack and live there. Cry it out and then refocus on where you are headed”

It is here that our Emotional Health comes to the fore.

We ARE human.

We do make mistakes.

And we do need to ‘let our feelings out’.

We live in a society which expects us to be “perfect” all of the time, and that it’s just not the ‘done thing’ to show our emotions.

Luckily, society is changing as we become more aware of our Mental Health. 

It is Important to allow ourselves to ‘get rid of’ the negative feelings and thoughts to make room for the Positive and Determined thoughts and feelings.

We need to Learn “how” to get rid of this ‘poison’ in a Controlled and Constructive way.

Basically, we want to let our feelings out in a “Safe” way.

One Controlled way is to sit down and write or draw it ‘all’ out, and if you start to cry at the same time, allow the tears to weep.

Give yourself permission to heal and to get better Mentally and Emotionally.

Show Compassion towards yourself this time.

Once you’ve done this and start to feel better, aim your thoughts towards Positive and Stronger thoughts.

Start to use your “Positive Support System” straight away.

And then be more Determined than ever to succeed.
