 Physically, Mentally And Emotionally

“One of the best lessons you can learn in life is to master how to remain calm”

How true are these words!

Our blood pressure would be better for one thing.

Staying Calm in any and every situation is a “Skill” that any one of us can Learn.

And like all skills, it takes time to be that skillful.

We know what “Calm” means: the absence of strong emotions / not showing or feeling nervousness, anger, or other strong emotions.

“She had to keep calm at all costs”.

How about you and I?

When we are feeling under pressure, there are a few ‘tips’ to keep in mind which will  help us to stay calm.

Breathe by taking a few slow, deep breaths.

Count to 10, things may feel a little different by the time you get to number 10.

Take a walk or walk away.

Before any ‘situation’ starts to get to us, we can start to ‘practice’ Meditation today, if only for 5 minutes every day.

Being grateful for what we have in life will put us ‘in the right frame of mind’.

And if all else fails — just walk away, because our Mental Health is far more Important than ‘proving anyone right’.

Staying Calm as much as we can will have such a Positive influence on our lives, physically, emotionally and mentally.

 No Matter How Old We Are!

“Let us make our future now, and let us make our dreams tomorrow’s reality”

This really talks about living now and planning for the future.

Loving Life today and Looking Forward to the Future.

This also means that we should take Control of our own lives — now and for the future.

Our way of thinking has a lot to do with this.

By ‘training’ our minds to think Positive, Confident and Hopeful thoughts NOW, we will be Stronger mentally in the future.

How many of us have sat down and really thought about our futures, and what we really would like to do?

This also means taking Control of our Time and ‘Planning’.

Time goes by so quickly that before  we know it the children have left home and we are getting ready to retire.

When you look back on your life then, will you be happy with what you see?

The beauty of living is that we can ‘start today to plan for our future’ — no matter our age!

Plan "It"

 Plan “It”

“Wake up every morning with the thought that something wonderful is going to happen”

When we were children, life was one big adventure.

We’d wake up every morning, excited to see what will happen, what we’ll learn that day, and happy to play with our favourite toys.

What happened?

We grew up.

But sometimes we ‘forget’ that there is excitement in every day because, as adults, we become too busy looking after others, as well as ourselves.

We need to remember that there is always something Special in every single day, we just have to ‘find’ it or ‘look’ for it.

And even as adults, we are always Learning something new every day, we just may not always realise it.

Also, can we plan our day enough to have that special something to look forward to?

For example, what’s your favourite hobby? Reading? Music? Sewing?

Why not give yourself 10 to 15 minutes every day to sit down, rest, and ‘do’ your favourite hobby?

Not only is this good for you physically, but also for your Mental Health, which is one of the most Important things in our lives.

Having something Positive and Good in our minds will help us to find and ‘see’ those “miracles” — which happen every day.

It Is Important To Us

 It Is Important To Us

“When something is important enough, you do it even if the odds are not in your favour”

Is it ‘Important Enough’ to you and I?

When there is a Reason behind doing something, “It” is achieved whatever the circumstances.

This can apply to many things in Life and, to some, even Life Itself can seem to have the ‘odds stacked against It’.

I’ve been reading about the nurses who served during the First World War, at home and abroad.

Many times it looked like everything was against them, especially when the enemy was bombing the makeshift hospitals.

Their sheer Resilience to do whatever they could to help the wounded soldiers — and the ‘odds’ really were against them — saved many lives, with many nurses receiving medals for their bravery.

Our lives are in no way like theirs was back then, which gives us Hope today.

When someone is going through treatment for cancer, they fight it ‘all the way’, and many are winning.

Again, are our personal lives anything like theirs?

Attitude and a certain Positive way of thinking will always get us through “It” because it is Important to us personally.

Determination And Confidence

 Determination And Confidence

“A positive attitude can really make dreams come true”

I’ve got an idea, a ‘dream’.

I can do this, I really can achieve this!

I’m living my ‘dream’!

A Positive Attitude makes most things seem Possible.

But what is an “Attitude”?

“A feeling or opinion about something or someone, or a way of behaving that is caused by this”.

A Feeling or an Opinion which affects what we do, how we behave and why we behave or do things ‘in a certain way’.

So let “Positive” be the “Why” and then Life will be Achievable.

Our dreams will become a possibility of coming true — with a Positive Attitude.

Inorder to become a Doctor, especially a specialised doctor, you have to have that very Positive Determination because of all the years of hard study and exams that have to be passed.

With this, no doubt, the person would have done his or her research first, and then that person would have felt much more Confident to move forward in their chosen career (or life).

Another example is the ballet dancer.

Without that Positive Love for ballet and the sheer Determination to dance those steps, he or she would never have the Right Attitude to dance in that theatre.

What about you and I?

With that Positive and Determined Attitude, we will have the Confidence to Have and Live our Dream.

Positive Means Possibilities

 Positive Means Possibilities

“Positive thinking will let you do everything better than negative thinking will”

To be Positive means to go forwards, especially in Life.

Positive thinking can ‘free up the mind’, giving it space for more Constructive and Practical and Stronger thoughts.

And it is these ‘thoughts’ that will help us to progress in our lives, always keeping our heads high and a smile on our faces.

Who does better?

The Positive and Cheerful sales assistant, who always makes the customer laugh?

Or, the negative and moaning one, who is always complaining to anyone who will listen?

I think I know who I’d rather have serving me.

A Positive thinker also thinks of the Possibilities that are in front of him or her, finding ways to move forwards in life.

Life just comes easier when you are thinking in a Positive way.

We've Come This Far

 We’ve Come This Far

“Never stop believing in hope because miracles happen every day”

Another way of expressing this is to never stop Believing in Ourselves!

The thing with miracles is that we don’t always recognise them, sometimes, until they have gone. 

Always Believing in Hope is the same as always Believing in Life Itself, and we would never give up on Life.

The word Hope can mean: “a feeling of expectation or / and desire for a particular thing to happen”, or, “a feeling of trust”.

Do we Trust Ourselves?

Do we Trust in Life?

Will we always Believe in “Trust”?

“Miracles” are happening every day, all day, we just need to stop and ‘see’ them.

A new born baby is a miracle, just as the old lady is a miracle, who struggles to go out but still does to meet her friend at the cafe.

A student may think that it is a miracle when they pass that very difficult exam.

And a mum and dad are so Proud when they see their little one take his or her first steps.

What about you?

What ‘Miracles’ have You accomplished today?

Sit down and take a few minutes, quietly, to think about what YOU have done today, and allow yourself to feel Proud of yourself.

Some may say that it’s a miracle that we’ve come this far.
