Every morning we wake up is a gift we give to ourselves and it is up to us to make that gift a happy and beautiful one.

Every morning is a blank canvas for us to paint a joyful and amazing picture on.

It is up to us to paint that unique picture.

Learning from yesterday, we can ‘make good’ today so that we can look forward to tomorrow.

It is our responsibility to ‘care for’ our own lives.

A strong way to start our day is to get into the routine of sitting quietly for ten minutes every morning, and meditating on positive affirmations or writing in a Gratitude journal.

This strengthens our minds and gives us the all important “me-time” that we need every day.

It is true, the ‘thought’ starts in the mind but it is ‘the putting it into action’ which will affect our lives and the lives of others.

When we promise something and then ‘do it’ or ‘put it into action’, people will know that we can be believed and trusted.

Words alone are not always enough.

“Actions” are needed to bring the point home.

A student does a lot of studying, reading and talking during their seminars at university, but it is only when they put into practice all that they have learnt, that he or she becomes qualified.

The balance between personal happiness and economic necessity is difficult but so important.

Many of us find ourselves almost trapped in a job we need but do not particularly ‘love’.

The few who can do a job they love with the right financial benefits are indeed ‘lucky’.

However, a balance can be found.

We may need to keep the job because of our finances but we can enjoy a hobby when at home.

Sometimes, the hobby can become the job, if we really want it to be.

Also, our own ‘view-point’ of our lives can make things easier and more enjoyable.

For our mental health, it is important to have a very positive way of looking at our jobs and our personal happiness.

“A diamond is a chunk of coal that did well under pressure.”

Diamonds are beautiful!

But it took them time to become beautiful and this is something we need to remember when thinking about ourselves.

Transformation, of any kind, does not happen quickly or over night.

A butterfly can take two weeks in its chrysalis before it comes out into the beautiful coloured butterfly we see in our gardens every day.

Diamonds are known for their durability and strength, as well as their brilliance and rarity.

A diamond is formed deep within the Earth’s mantle, where extreme heat and pressure crystallize it into a specific shape.

We really are no different.

We go through difficult challenges in our lives and become extremely strong.

We also become beautiful!
