 Get It Into Your Head

“You have to practice hopeful thoughts, expectant thoughts, thoughts of appreciation, thoughts of happiness”

Like anything that is good and worth having in life, practice makes perfect.

It comes back to making time for ourselves and thinking, reading and writing Positive thoughts — almost like rote.

When we were at school, we learnt many things this way until, eventually, we learnt the subject.

Why is Positive Thinking any different?

And Positive Thinking is so Important for our Mental Health!

When we know that something is Important to our Health and to our Lives, we do it, like taking medication (for example).

Positive Affirmations are no different.

Saying out loud, reading, thinking and writing down Positive Thoughts, like a favourite subject, will definitely get these into our heads.

 They Will Always Remember

“Listening is one of the loudest forms of kindness”

How do you feel when someone takes time out of their day to just sit down and listen to you?

You never forget their kindness.

It is interesting that the word ‘Loud’ can be used to describe something or someone “that is of high quality, very good, amazing” (slang).

Also, to be loud in Kindness can mean to be active in showing Kindness.

Very often, there is very little that we can physically do to ease or change a person’s ‘situation’ or problem, but we can show Kindness.

A kind word with a kind smile is free and easy to do — and it is something that we Can do to help.

And that person will always remember your Kindness.

This is a lovely quote.

We are often so busy looking after others and ‘praising’ and loving them, that we completely forget about ourselves and that we need to be loved and praised too.

But not just by others but by ourselves too.

We need to learn to love ourselves.

We also have been through many things and we also deserve Respect, not just from others but also from ourselves.

When you look in the mirror, “who” do you see?

This very Special person who has been through so much in life but who is still here, standing in front of the mirror.

You should be Proud of yourself.

You should Love yourself.

Afterall, I’m sure your loved ones and your friends Love you and are Proud of you.

This is something that all of us need — support, confidence and hope.

It is true that we can help ourselves by helping others.

So let’s be known as the Cheerful and Encouraging friend, instead of the moaning one.

When we show our Positive attitude, people are drawn to us because everyone loves to Smile and Laugh.

It is true, there is enough criticism in this world which can become very discouraging.

To be Encouraging is also good for our Mental Health, which is so Important in our lives.

It is in our nature, as humans, to copy others.

We learnt how to eat, drink and speak by copying our parents, and we learnt acceptable behaviour by copying our family (usually).

Every one of us ‘has an opinion’ which we all try to respect.

However, we can only change the world around us by our Example.

We always want to set a good Example for our children.

How about setting a good Example for our friends and the people we meet?

Our minds are the most important part of our bodies, because the mind controls every aspect of us, as a person.

From our emotions to our dreams to our hearts and to every organ in our bodies, our minds have full control.

We, therefore, need to Control our minds.

Every one of us makes mistakes in our lives, some of them are big, some of them are small.

What we need to Remember is to learn from these mistakes and use that knowledge to learn from and to progress in our lives.

We can help ourselves by keeping that Gratitude journal, writing down everyday the good things that are in our lives.

These Positive words will ‘push out’ the negative mistakes.

 A Kind Word

“People don’t fake depression. They fake being okay. Remember that. Be Kind”

We are all such good ‘actors’ and ‘actresses’ that we hide behind the mask of “everything’s OK” and no one really knows what we are feeling or thinking.

We appreciate that person who goes that extra mile to sit down and listen to us.

They are showing that they Respect us.

Depression affects the mind and a person becomes depressed after going through a ‘difficult time’, and sometimes all he or she needs is to ‘talk it out’ to clear their mind.

And like we appreciate that help and Respect ourselves, so would he or she.

“Be Kind”.

Other words for Kindness or Kind are: Compassionate, Mild, Tender.

Sometimes that is all a person needs — a kind word — to make them feel a little better.
